Enid, OK: Market Report December 18, 2007

Merry Christmas! All of us at Winter Livestock would like to extend a warm and cordial holiday cheer to you. We appreciate all your friendship and business! We hope the holidays bring many blessings to you.

The end of 2007 is almost here and what a year it has been! Cattle prices have varied by as much as $35.00 and grain prices have gone through the roof! Moisture has played a major role in the cattle cycle and Oklahoma has finally been blessed with an abundance here at the end of the year!

With wheat prices at record highs, grazing cattle seem to be very few in number, and the grazing season will be fairly short this year. It sounds like everyone and their dog is going to cut wheat this year and forego the cattle. That would seem like an excellent opportunity to handle cattle in the coming years!

We look forward to next year and the wonderful market that we have right now. Even though at this moment it is lower, it is still way above the average over the last fifty years! Take advantage of all the opportunities coming your way!

Winter Livestock will be closed on Tuesday, December 25, 2007 and Tuesday, January 1, 2008. Our next sale will be on Tuesday, January 8, 2008. If you have any questions or business to attend to, please don’t hesitate to call or come by. Our offices will be open during regular business hours except Christmas and New Years.

Our next end of the month cow sale will be on Tuesday, January 29, 2008! There are already 350 Angus and Angus cross cows consigned for that sale.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND GOD BLESS!

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR BUSINESS!

Enid, OK: Market Report December 4, 2007

Excellent market this week! We had a very busy week this last week with over 1200 cows and over 1000 calves selling on Saturday and Tuesday! Attendance was outstanding with over 300 people watching the sale live and over 200 watching on the internet just at our Saturday sale!

Demand has greatly improved for just about all classes of cattle over the last 30 days. The wheat is looking much better and there is still a fairly large amount of hay lying around the country side! Yearlings are still very hard to find, and still bringing excellent money. With the farm work mostly done, there are plenty of opportunities!
